Kookaburra Kahuna Pro 5.0 Junior Cricket Bat

The Kookaburra Kahuna Pro 5.0 Junior Cricket Bat is built for young players aiming to perform across all formats of the game. Crafted from Grade 4 Youth Unbleached English Willow, this bat delivers a responsive feel and balanced pick-up — ideal for juniors developing their technique and confidence on the field.

Featuring a mid-high profile and traditional toe profile, this bat supports powerful and consistent striking, while the Extra Tec facing enhances durability for training and match play. The KPP (Kookaburra Pre-Prepared) finish means the bat is ready to play sooner, and the oval handle with Vertex grip ensures comfort and control at the crease.

Buy your Cricket Bat Online from Western Sports Centre

Choosing a cricket bat comes down to four things: size, weight, willow and how it feels in your hands.

  • Size: most adults use a Short Handle bat. For juniors, choose by height, and if they're between sizes, go smaller.
  • Weight: pick the heaviest bat you can swing comfortably for a whole innings, not the heaviest you can lift.
  • Willow: English willow is lighter and livelier for hard-ball cricket. Kashmir willow is tougher and more affordable, great for a first bat.
  • Knocking in: a new English willow bat needs knocking in before you face a leather ball, unless it's sold as Play Now or Match Ready.
