GN Astro 950 Edition Adult Cricket Bat (Play Now)
The Astro remains in the Gray-Nicolls Range for season 2024-25 due to its extreme popularity last summer.
With a striking red design, colours that have been associated with Gray-Nicolls since the very beginning, this bat is sure to yet again turn heads across the season.
It has been designed to create the perfect blend of power and pick up, making it a fantastic option for all-round cricketers.
With a spine that runs through to the toe of the bat, the Astro has been designed for players who like a lightweight cricket bat.
Australian All-Rounder Tahlia McGrath is among the Gray-Nicolls athletes using the Astro this season.
It is typically crafted in weight ranges between 2.7 - 2.9 and uses Superior Grade 3 English Willow.
The Astro 950 is a Play Now bat, meaning it has been fully prepared and is ready for match or training use immediately.
Bat Features:
- Mid Profile
- Slight Bow
- Feather Light Pickup
- Large Edges
- Rounded POWERCURVE Face
- Play Now Finish
- Traction Grip
Choosing a cricket bat comes down to four things: size, weight, willow and how it feels in your hands.
- Size: most adults use a Short Handle bat. For juniors, choose by height, and if they're between sizes, go smaller.
- Weight: pick the heaviest bat you can swing comfortably for a whole innings, not the heaviest you can lift.
- Willow: English willow is lighter and livelier for hard-ball cricket. Kashmir willow is tougher and more affordable, great for a first bat.
- Knocking in: a new English willow bat needs knocking in before you face a leather ball, unless it's sold as Play Now or Match Ready.
