Choosing cricket shoes starts with one question: what surface do you play on?

Spikes or rubber: metal spikes grip best on turf and grass. Rubber soles are for synthetic pitches, indoor cricket and training.
Fit: try them on with cricket socks and leave about a thumb's width at the toe. Your heel shouldn't lift.
Width: if standard shoes pinch, try a wider fit. Some New Balance models come in 2E and 4E.
Bowlers: look for extra heel cushioning and a firm fit to handle the delivery stride.
