🏏 Gray-Nicolls Tempesta 850 Play Now Adult Cricket Bat – Grade 3 English Willow Bat
The Gray-Nicolls Tempesta 850 Play Now Adult Cricket Bat is a quality English willow cricket bat designed for players who want a light pickup, balanced feel and strong all-round performance.
Crafted from Superior Grade 3 English Willow, the Tempesta 850 provides excellent value for club cricketers, developing senior players and advanced juniors moving into adult cricket.
The low-mid profile, even bow and rounded POWERCURVE face help create a responsive hitting area, making this bat suitable for front-foot drives, back-foot shots and controlled stroke play around the ground.
This is a Play Now cricket bat, meaning it has been factory prepared to reduce preparation time. However, additional knocking-in and gradual net use with an older ball is still recommended before full match use against a leather cricket ball.

Choosing a cricket bat comes down to four things: size, weight, willow and how it feels in your hands.
- Size: most adults use a Short Handle bat. For juniors, choose by height, and if they're between sizes, go smaller.
- Weight: pick the heaviest bat you can swing comfortably for a whole innings, not the heaviest you can lift.
- Willow: English willow is lighter and livelier for hard-ball cricket. Kashmir willow is tougher and more affordable, great for a first bat.
- Knocking in: a new English willow bat needs knocking in before you face a leather ball, unless it's sold as Play Now or Match Ready.
