🏏 Gray-Nicolls Volt 500 Ready Play Adult Cricket Bat

The Gray-Nicolls Volt 500 Ready Play Adult Cricket Bat is designed for senior and developing adult players who want an easy pickup, dependable hitting area and strong value.

Its mid profile, even bow and light pickup make it comfortable to manoeuvre through the shot. Medium edges and a mid sweet spot provide a balanced hitting zone for front-foot drives, back-foot punches and attacking strokes around the wicket.

The rounded POWERCURVE face is designed to improve feel through contact, while the slightly rounded toe and Traction XP Grip provide a comfortable, controlled setup at the crease.

The Ready Play finish includes protective grain facing and edge tape, reducing the initial preparation required before use. It is a practical choice for club players wanting English willow performance with added surface protection.

Choosing a cricket bat comes down to four things: size, weight, willow and how it feels in your hands.

  • Size: most adults use a Short Handle bat. For juniors, choose by height, and if they're between sizes, go smaller.
  • Weight: pick the heaviest bat you can swing comfortably for a whole innings, not the heaviest you can lift.
  • Willow: English willow is lighter and livelier for hard-ball cricket. Kashmir willow is tougher and more affordable, great for a first bat.
  • Knocking in: a new English willow bat needs knocking in before you face a leather ball, unless it's sold as Play Now or Match Ready.
